Ganpati Bappa Morya !! .... It was festive atmosphere yesterday at Laxmi Narayan Surrey Temple ... Marathi society of BC hosted this event. All ages from Marathi society , participated with enthusiasm in the event, from procession to pooja-aarti and Prasad Bhojan.

June 29th, 2019 for Annual General Meeting of the MSBC.
New Board Members appointed.
Performed by the हौशी कलाकार from Seattle, this group led by Jayant Bhopatkar, delivered a great performance of Marathi comedy natak विच्छा माझी पुरी करा on March 23rd 2019 at Burnaby Hall. This event was attended by about 55 persons.
General Body meeting of the society was held on November 24th 2018 at BACI Hall in Burnaby. The new and shiny constitution and bylaws of the society were approved at the meeting. The latest documents are now available for viewing and/or download here.
MSBC Diwali 2018 function was held on November 10th, 2018 at Bonsor Banquet Hall, in Burnaby. The festivities and performances were enjoyed by about 250 participants.

MSBC Garba was held on October 21st, 2018 at Second Street Community School in Burnaby. Over 130 participants enjoyed the festivities and pav bhaji served after the event. This time we had 6 stalls with 5 of them being food stalls and all of them received lot of traffic for buying food and inquiries. events marathi charitable organization
We celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi on September 13th, 2018 at Hindu Temple, Burnaby. The attendance was way above expectation and participated in pooja and partake prasad.

MSBC had the great pleasure of showing the animated movie Prabho Shivaji Raja on September 8th at BACI Hall in Burnaby for our community . While the showing was catered to our community's young minds, getting them familiar with the life of our beloved Shivaji Maharaj, we thank each and everyone (kids and adults alike) for joining us.
We look forward to the opportunity to host events like these in the future.
2017 Bhondla anjd Garba event was held at Fleetwood Community Centre in Surrey on September 23rd. Over 115 members attended the event,
The gathering started with Saraswati Poojan followed by Bhondla. Attendees, one and all danced to the traditional songs sung by Vaishali, Nileema and Pragati. This was followed by Garba and Dandia. The gathering wanted the dancing to go on but alas, we had the facility reserved for a limited time.
The event wrapped with dinner.
The Consulate General of India, Vancouver hosted a mega-cultural event "Namaste Canada 2017" on Sunday 3rd September and Monday 4th September at Bell Performing Arts Center in Surrey.
Marathi Society of BC 's Marathi Shala students and parents performed Bajirao Peshwa based theme at this event which was very well liked by all attendees.
We celebrated Ganapati puja on August 25th 2017, at Laxmi Narayan Mandir, Surrey.
Children participated in decorating Ganapati pictures and the pictures were placed near Ganapati moorthi while performing the pooja.
More than 200 devotees participated in the puja and partook prasad after the puja. It was a very joyous and festive evening and am sure every one of the devotees enjoyed it very much.
Thanks for all the donor and every one that could join us in the celebrations.
The concert was held on August 13, 2017 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at BACI Hall in Burnaby. The event was attended and enjoyed by over 50 people not only from Marathi community but also from general music lover community from Vancouver area. Pandit Dravid amazed the attendees with a wonderful performance and kept them spell bound for the entire time.
Light lunch was served thereafter and that was enjoyed by all.
Marathi Society of BC had recently organised a fund raising campaign and had set itself a target of 2,500 dollars. With support of the our member community, we raised 1,500 dollars. The MSBC Board decided to add another 500 dollars from the rest of the member community and a round sum of 2,000 dollars is being donated. In accordance with the request on the BC Government Website, your Board has selected the Canadian Red Cross as the beneficiary.
A big thank you to the members who opened their hearts and wallets for this worthy cause and to the other who could not do so in time, we will do more in support of other worthy causes throughout the year
2017 Picnic was held on July 23rd, at Burnaby Fraser Foreshore park, Burnaby from 11 am to 5 pm. Members brought a lot of food to share with MSBC providing soft drinks, corns, bhel, bhaji, mattha, jilebi and tea.
Kids enjoyed games and activities arranged by Pragati and Harshada and adults and young adults could just not get away from the volley ball court. It was a fun event attended by over 125 individuals.
We are very thankful to Kunico and Narubhau Joshi for bringing the corns and preparing tea and also thanks to Mohan Bhide and Yatish Dhabholkar for assisting with securing our reserved picnic spot.

2018 Picnic was held at Burnaby Fraser Foreshore Park, Burnaby on July 28th and was the first and free event of the Society.
The event was attended by veteran as well as new members and would be members who enjoyed the variety of food that was brought by individual members and Misal that was provided on behalf of the society.
Everybody enjoyed the games of box cricket, tug-of-war, volley ball and other games that were organised by enthusiastic volunteers.
A thank you goes out to Kunico and Narubhau Joshi this year again for preparing tea and corn, to volunteers who helped make the show happen and to all the attendees who came and enjoyed the day.
Annual General Meeting of the Marathi Society of BC was held on June 9th at BACI Hall in Burnaby.
"Maharashtra Din" was celebrated on May 5th at BACI Hall in Burnaby. The event included performances by kid and members of all age groups, Games, Karaoke. The performances was followed by dinner with special item of the evening being Misal Pav. Event was attended and enjoyed by about 120 members.
Marathi Society of BC celebrated "Gudi Padwa" together with Gudi Pooja, music, games and Marathi menu potluck on March 31st at BACI Hall and was enjoyed by one and all.
We had fun fare on Saturday Feb 24 at BACI Hall that was enjoyed by more than 165 people which consisted on both MSBC Members and non members. This was the first free event of the year.
Makar Sankranti was celebrated on Jan 20th 2018 at BACI Hall in Burnaby with musical performances by Akhil Jobanputra, Neeraja Aptikar, harmonium solo by Mohan Bhide accompanied by Yogish Kudva on the table. About 90 people attended this sold out event and enjoyed the musical evening followed by light dinner.
2017 Diwali function was held on Saturday, October 28th, 2017 at Bonsor Banquet Hall, 6550 Bonsor Avenue, Burnaby, BC. The program schedule was jam packed and audience were treated to an evening filled with wonderful performances. This was followed by sumptuous dinner.
